Infection Transmission Training

Course Overview: In healthcare settings, germs and infectious agents can be found in several places, patients, workers, visitors, etc. To combat possible infections, it is important to understand how infectious agents are transmitted. This training has information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), covering the six links of the infection cycle including how each link can be broken to prevent the transmission of infectious agents.
MRSA Prevention Training

Course Overview: Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) is a Gram+ bacteria that have become resistant to several antibiotics, including Penicillin, and is considered a "Superbug!" MRSA can cause infections throughout the body, especially in the skin, blood, and respiratory system, and can even lead to death. MRSA is considered a major problem for healthcare facilities, hospitals, and nursing homes. Training includes information on hospital-acquired and community-acquired MRSA, risk factors, symptoms, prevention steps, and treatment options.
Sepsis Treatment Training

Course Overview: Sepsis is a life-threatening medical emergency caused by the body's extreme response to a local viral, bacterial, or fungal infection often beginning in a person's lungs, digestive tract, skin, or urinary tract. Healthcare professionals must be educated and have tools to recognize and detect the signs of sepsis. Included in this training are several of these tools, such as the Surviving Sepsis Campaign Bundles, and Quick Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (qSOFA).

Course Overview: The skin is the largest organ of the body, equaling up to 16% of the body's weight, and is responsible for being a barrier to protect the body from infection and part of regulating and communicating within the body. Proper wound care is important not just for the optimal healing of the wound, but also to limit the chance of infection from setting. This training is for employees to develop understanding and proficiency in the types of possible wounds and how to care for them.
