ICD-10 Delay is Now Official

HHS will delay implementation of ICD-10 by one year, from October 1, 2013 to October 1, 2014. HHS announced the delay August 24th.

HHS originally proposed a one-year delay (from October 1, 2013, to October 1, 2014) for ICD-10 implementation April 9th. The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register April 17th. HHS received a large number of comments on the proposed delay.

It is scheduled to be published in the Federal Register September 5th.
