MIPS Participation Tool

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the MIPS Participation Tool has been updated. You can now check on your 2018 eligibility for the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).

What is the2018 MIPS Eligibility Tool?

For 2018, there have been changes to the Low-Volume Threshold. According to CMS, this should reduce the burden on smaller practices, like clinicians, if they:

  • Billed $90,000 or less in Medicare Part B charges for covered professional services under the Physician Fee Schedule (PFS)

OR

  • They furnished covered professional services, under the PFS to 200 or fewer Medicare Part B -enrolled beneficiaries
