Incident to Services

Course Overview: Incident to service, means the provider has completed all the components of an initial visit and created a clear treatment plan. Incident to services must be performed under the direct supervision of the physician. Medicare pays for services rendered by employees (including leased employees and independent contractors, hereafter referred to collectively as employees) of a physician or a physician-directed clinic only when all 'incident to' criteria are met.
