Course Overview: Under OSHA guidelines, employers are required to supply their organizations with the policies and procedures needed to ensure the general safety of all employees. Course Overview: Pursuant to federal law all providers and health care employees need to complete annual OSHA training, including bloodborne pathogens training. OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard requires a practice to develop a written Exposure Control Plan, establish training programs to alert employees to the dangers of bloodborne pathogens, and the require recordkeeping.

Course Overview: Approximately 5.6 million workers in health care and other facilities are at risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B virus (HBV), and hepatitis C virus (HCV). OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens standard prescribes safeguards to protect workers against the health hazards from exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials and to risk-reducing their risk from this exposure. All providers and health care employees need to complete annual OSHA training, including bloodborne pathogens training.

Course Overview: In accordance with OSHA 1910.34 through 1910.39 standards and NFPA 101-2000 Life Safety Code II, employees should have building safety training and instructions for what to do in the event of any emergency. Training must be effective in protecting workers, patients, and visitors, by preventing injuries, illnesses, and deaths. Included in the building safety training are general safety items, such as how to avoid things like slips, trips, and falls, fire safety plans, electrical safety, hazardous materials, and chemical dangers, natural disaster and evacuation plans, campus, and parking lot security.

Target Audience: Clinical Employees
Course Overview: Employees that work in clinical environments must be trained on how to address and protect themselves from possible exposures and risks that they may encounter as part of their job responsibilities. OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.132 requires employers to assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or likely to be present, which necessitate the use of PPE. Employers that have employees working in a clinical setting must have training in place that is effective in protecting against possible injury, illness, or even death.

Target Audience: Healthcare providers or employees that take part in the transportation of biomedical waste or OPIM
Course Overview: Healthcare providers and/or employees that transport biomedical waste (or other OPIM) from one location to another must-have Department of Transportation (DOT) training. DOT defines a hazardous material as any item or chemical that, when being transported or moved in commerce, is a risk to public safety or the environment, and is regulated as such under its Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration regulations which include the Hazardous Materials Regulations. This training promotes the proficiency and understanding of the proper procedures to follow when handling, transporting, and/or shipping biomedical waste or other OPIM.
